Week 14 Reflection: The Last Word

This was the most challenging semester that I have experienced during my studies, and taking ENG 301 added more workload to my degree planner. In most scenarios, authentic writing required a quiet place and peace of mind. After work, I had to help my wife with children’s needs, find a moment to relax, then study until late hours. I was frustrated several times. There was a moment that I felt like quitting but through prayers and my family’s support, I managed to reach the last week after a lot of effort.

My love for reading books, articles on the internet, and writing down my thoughts softened my stress of writing. In addition, this course has sharpened my ability to give a clear meaning of my feelings and thoughts in my writing. The other advantage I felt from this course this semester was the fact that I was also registered for Business Law (BUS 375). The Business Law requires me to submit a “legal brief” every week; therefore, writing skill was a necessity. The skill received from this class forged my confidence. I am more comfortable and confident today when presenting a topic to people in person at work, church, or community. The fear of being judged is no longer part of my character since I understand the essence of an argument.

This course has been blessed me a lot. I know the Lord has a plan for me regarding this new skill of research and writing. Practically speaking, I was able to create an online survey and share it with our training center. 43 learners were able to provide me with data that was easy to interpret in order to prepare a technical report based on the gathered result. I know that I am not yet perfect but I am confident that I can now write so many drafts until I reach the final work.
