W11 Outline: Academic Paper

Topic: Is technology helping or harming our environment?

Thesis Sentence: Climate change is caused due to the release of a few carbon compounds into the atmosphere, which drastically brought weather changes all over the world. Climate change is not confined to a single region. It has become an important issue all over the world for the past few years.

Paragraph 1: General history. Questions to consider:

·         Is climate change caused by humans?

·         What are the main threats of Climate change?

·         How is Climate change affecting humans, animals, oceans, and farms?

·         What are the solutions to Climate change?

·         Why global warming should be avoided?

Paragraph 2: Climate change events

Current examples: Hurricane Katrina, The great storm of 1987, Typhon, Cyclone Kenneth, and more

Paragraph 3: Leaders efforts to monitor Climate change and provide solutions

Viewpoint: Yes, human’s invention ability is affecting Climate change

Direct observations made on and above Earth’s surface show the planet’s climate is significantly changing. Human activities are the primary driver of those changes.

·         Global temperature rise

·         Deforestation.

·         Automobiles release the unburnt carbon monoxide due to which ultraviolet rays got a way to enter the atmosphere.

·         Mining techniques

Evidence: warming Ocean, shrinking ice sheets, glacial retreat, sea-level rise…

Paragraph 4: Climate change skeptics.

Viewpoint: some have attempted to convince the public that climate change is not happening, or if the climate is changing it is not because of human influence

·         Carbon cycles are too vast to upset Nature’s balance

·         There isn’t a correlation between rising temperatures and CO2 emissions – therefore, humans can’t be causing climate change.

·         Greenhouse gases aren’t causing climate change – it’s actually the sun, volcanoes, or some other source.

Paragraph 5: Neutral position on Climate change.

Viewpoint: A few falls somewhere in between the two viewpoints. Climate change can turn into being a human’s action in some part and some other cases are God’s will.

Paragraph 6: Impact and Consequences

·         Heavy financial loss.

·         Flood all over the world

·         Global warming  causing a forest fire

Paragraph 8: Preventions and solutions

·         Climate change awareness

·         Reduce greenhouse gas emission

·         World leaders actions

·         Environment conservation programs

·         Forestation management

·         Appropriate human settlement location

Paragraph 8: My position

The release of carbon compounds into the atmosphere is the main cause of Climate change, which in return changes the weather not only around a single country but the most corners of the world.

Conclusion:

·         Viewpoints review

·         I will be exploring all these viewpoints to better provide good advice.

·         My final conclusion

We need to save our nature, or else nature will be disappearing and the natural resources will get depleted. There will be no non-renewable resources left.
